Squeezed in between the glacier Adalsbreen and the barren rocks of Norafjell is this lovely little green valley. Called the Kingdom in the Sky by locals, the valley offers a splendid view towards Vengetindene and Romsdalshorn across the Romsdal valley, Dønttind to the south, and Trolltindene literally towering above.
(see Eva's favourite walks and scrambles)

Mardalsfossen, the southern Mardalsfoss, seen from the northern Mardalsfoss. About a miles walk in easy terrain is all it takes to enjoy this magnificent waterfall. (map and description on this page)
A huge slab of ice almost blocked the inlet to this small pond in northern Mardalsfoss. Cold. Very cold. Robin dived in a couple of minutes later, and gave us a real life example of a silent scream.
Looking out the kitchen window at Skorgedalen at around midnight. In early August the velvet nights return to Skorgedalen after months of round the clock daylight.

Yvonne and Robin feeding seagulls on the Valldal - Geiranger ferry. The fjord was alive with porpoises, and just on the corner between Storfjorden and the Geiranger fjord we saw two white-tail eagles. Another species to be observed is a sub-species of Homo sapiens called European Urban Environmentalists. It seems that part of our species have completely adopted habitats like Disneyland.
